The thermal actuator is a critical component of the powertrain that helps in controlling and regulating the temperature of the engine. It is a device that has a thermally-actuated valve mechanism that helps in controlling the flow of coolant through the radiator. The thermal actuator can be subdivided into three sections:The thermostatic valve、The control circuit、The electric motor/pneumatic actuator。 What is Thermostatic Valve? It is a type of valve that has a bimetallic strip that expands or contracts according to the change in temperature. The bimetallic strip is made up of two different metals, for example, steel and copper. When these two metals are heated, they expand or contract at different rates. The difference in expansion rate causes the strip to bend or flex. This bending or flexing causes the opening and closing of the valve when exposed to heat or cold.
